Travel is the perfect product.
It can be luxurious, yet is affordable enough for most people in some form. People love to tell everyone the places they’ve visited; some people, given the chance, will talk about nothing else. It’s endlessly novel and requires little physical investment. It’s literally impossible to run out of places to visit. There are practically no limits to how much money you can spend on travel.
That is to say, it’s consumerism dressed up as virtue.

Just try to make sure you don’t end up as narrow-minded as they are.

I don’t know, guys like Elon Musk can’t seem to shut up about it.

You don’t publicly demand access to classified files of another sovereign nation state. There’s only one world leader I can think of who’d be dumb enough to do a thing like that.

That sounds a lot like saying that the obese are needed to provide food for the thin.
I’d love to help you, but unfortunately I can’t think of a single distro that would run on a cat.

“Hey doc before you slice open that guy over there and wiggle your fingers around inside them, wash your fucking hands!”
It was quite a controversial idea at the time.

To be fair, he sounds like a crook.

No wonder, Google really outdid itself with this one!

My power company is charging me that much for nothing but vibes?!

But wasn’t it me who was supposed to be left behind? 🤔

With the caveat that I’m just a random idiot on the internet who has never even considered building a custom distro — seems like the most reliable way to go about it would be to build such a thing on top of a declarative distro such as Guix or NixOS. It should require less maintenance effort to make sure all packages are compatible as they’re updated, in case you decide to publish your work. Nixbook is one example of this. Someone on Reddit was also making a case for reproducible builds in scientific computing. A Docker container could also work if you can do without a GUI.

Execs solving societal problems 🤣🤣

It also tells that you’re likely to have a vat of boiling oil dumped on you when attempting to breach the walls.

Build a moat.
It’s not impenetrable, but let’s be honest, who’s crazy enough to break into the house with a moat?
Bad news, buddy…

You’re thinking about what these people mean to you, not what they mean to the people who buried them. When you’re close to someone famous, they’re not that impressive guy with hundreds of achievements, they’re just dad, brother, son, beloved. I wouldn’t want to be dehumanized by someone turning my headstone into a CV.
As for Zappa, he was a weird guy. You can tell by listening to any of his albums. Plenty of reason to love his music.

I’m much more impressed by someone being good to their loved ones than someone being rich or famous.
I’M AFRAID OF EVERYTHING LIKE A REAL MAN!
