there’s always a reason not to switch.
and unfortunately trash audio in Linux is probably the most reasonable.
You should probably still rip the adobe band aid off now even if Apple is your next best choice though. Davinci Resolve is free and worth paying for if you need it professionally.

4·9 months agoI would buy a G5 every few years until the end of time if they still made them. Profit clearly isn’t the driving motivator of the post capitalist world we inhabit.
And what exactly will you replace your logitech stuff with? they’re all going down this path now.
honestly if they still make the only mice that don’t look like a gaming router they might still have me … on the second hand market at least.

2·10 months agowe ran out of IPv4 address space a long fucking time ago, you are infinity more likely to have a static IP address now because you’ll be behind a carrier grade NAT sharing it’s IP. you don’t really pay for a static IP anymore but the ability to directly address you’re own network.

having a hotspot you can turn on in an emergency is different from just leaving it on all the time, and even then decoupling the baseband system from your device is still worthwhile.
