Sorry couldn’t resist a bit of a jab but yes I feel like this is something a lot of believers seem to just forget when it comes to the rich people cynically exploiting their religion for selfish gain.
“Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. How can I provide evidence for something outside of my realm of existence, man? And these people will definitely taste Hell, since at least some rich people are self-employed/honest heads of companies who give from what they earn… I did appreciate the call back though! 😅
