I don’t use Zoom, Teams, etc. But I’ve seen quite a few posts that suggest people hosting the meetings have to ask others to mute themselves or turn off their cameras. Do the people hosting meetings not have the ability to mute the people joining them? Sounds like a no brainer to have that feature.
I understand that, but I would imagine there would be a way to have the default be to mute everyone if you know no one else needs to talk. That way no one feels singled out, and you wouldn’t be interrupted at all.

They do have that feature. The hosts are just ignorant of it.

It’s kind of a courtesy. Just muting somebody is a bit rude
