Brico Pala is relocating outside of Brussels.
Maxitech is in liquidation. And strangely, they are not advertising this with any signage. But ATM it’s apparently 50% off everything (tools, paint, tiles, bathroom fixtures, etc). They’re at Rue des coteaux 206 for roughly one more month.
Maxitech did not have toilet guts for a ceramic cistern, which are crazy expensive. WTF is going on? It’s just some plastic bits with rubber washers, and the damn things cost upwards of €70. Geberit ones are like €100, as much as a whole new ceramic cistern.
Brico diy shops tend to have the highest prices, but they did have some Wirquin ones for €35, which is still overpriced despite undercutting shops that usually undercut them.
Whenever you see a cistern dumped on the curb, consider there is a chance that there could be guts worth €100 in there. I actually brought one home once, descaled it in a bath of acid, and it worked fine. People toss them just because some limescale makes them leak.
Brico Padwa is also gone. The Brico that was near Capitani is also gone.
Elak and Capitani (both electronic components shops) have moved to the outskirts of Brussels.
