Not such a bad idea actually. It’s not like Tinder or any other such platform want anybody to find a partner, because that would make them lose a customer/product. They just want maximum engagement on their own app, so everybody else but them loses. While it’s silly of course, but this is one of those things where public option would be good.
Would vastly prefer an open-source/crowd-sourced/free option, but I realize how unlikely that is.
the old model of the internet is dead. dating websites were great at first, when they were VC funded, new, and exciting. Their platforms were more open and the people on them more open minded.
Now they are all old, tired, and boring. They like network TV now.
It has called for the state to strengthen its role in supporting people in building relationships and to to explore establishing a non-profit dating service.
