One goose egg, one cup of venison chili, potatoes done in a cast iron skillet, too much cheese, a little olive oil and butter and some bacon grease for good measure.
Cost per person, $2.80
Goddamn, I just want to say this is out there, in a good way. Almost unhinged. Is this a known dish somewhere or is this a homesteading on steroids kind of deal?
Sorry, I typed up the comment thinking it was about tonight’s dinner.
New comment: yeah, this is basically exactly what you said, homestead special. Exists on no diner menu. Only in the kitchen when you have leftovers and goose eggs that need eating.
Old comment: This is pretty typical of a meal you’d find in western Pennsylvania where everyone has last names that start with W like Wareham, Wier and other very German names.

Wow, I was jonesing the other day for something just like this, but the local diner didn’t really have anything close. Too bad, because they’re absolute wizards at omelets, whereas I’m a bit inconsistent.
Whatever, to keep it simple I think I’ll just get a can of store chili, some eggs, and give it a go.
too much cheese
there’s no such thing
Agreed.
Looks amazing
