Arriva railway company plans to connect Dutch cities such as Utrecht and The Hague with Belgium. They are targeting February 2028 for this, "or as early as possible," according to a notice filed with the Dutch competition authority ACM.

    Another bunch of trains on the already saturated line Antwerp-Brussels? I doubt this one will pick up internal commuters, and it stands to reason that more commuter trains will be scrapped on that line to create room for Arriva.

    Hope the NMBS gains significantly from this deal, but it will probably be limited to the C-suites.
