It especially cool that steam deck basically set the rules upon arrival:
Being cheap (not anymore tho) — it was two to three times cheaper than competitives
Providing best user experience with SteamOS — showing that UI matters on such devices
Being serviceable — you can easily fix or at least replace components
It’s not like they was first company to present x86 handheld, but they was first one who was able to take off. I bought asus rog ally year ago (with z1extreme) and I already swapped os, nvme and sticks in it, battery will be next, cause in this model it abysmally small. And I can bet if not for stream deck, even if asus would release rog ally, it would cost x2 and repairability would basically none existent. And chance are it would have problems with linux (like their rog ally xbox version)
