I’m not saying stop saying it. I’m saying stop spamming it in huge letters in a relatively small forum like Lemmy. I’m fine with the message for now, but people have to consider the side effects that spamming it has on others.

Like, we just had a thread of people disliking celebrities for the simple fact that they were too visible in the media. Did we not learn a lesson from that one?

I disagree. I don’t see the harm in demanding accountability from our politicians a little louder.

You don’t see the harm in preaching to the choir to the point of being obnoxious? The downvotes are starting to increase. You’re burning through people’s good grace and patience real quick… unless that’s your end goal.

I thought the point of thread based comments is you can go completely off topic on one thread without effecting others. Don’t like it? There’s like a dozen other threads on the post to read. Many Lemmy frontends will let you collapse a thread if it’s bothering you.

Now that I’m thinking about it, maybe I’ll make keyword filters auto collapse comment threads in my Lemmy frontend I’m building.

            thread without effecting others

What part of spamming in a huge font is not affecting other people’s browsing experience? Do you see the downvotes? Whether you like it or not, there’s etiquette.

But maybe you’re right, let me block you right now instead of listening to you defend the absurd.
