I went on a hunt recently for thin paper that can be fed into a laser printer. Most laser printers are spec’d to require a weight of at least 60 g/m². My findings:

  • NIAS <www.les-papeteries.be> : 500×A4 (60 g/m², not recycled) €8
  • Schleiper : 500×A4 (72 g/m², recycled) €7.16
  • Electrodepot: 500×A4 (80 g/m², not recycled)) €3.95

I’m not sure how climate impactful it is to use recycled vs. non-recycled, or a lighter weighted paper. But I’m sure it’s not great that the cheapest paper is non-recycled 80 g/m². The price climbs very quickly when deviating from 80 g/m² in either direction. We pay double the price for 60 g/m² which consumes 25% less material. WTF, capitalism.

If anyone knows of a better price /offline, in Brussels/ for recycled or thin paper, plz mention it here.
