I much prefer playing old games, mostly because nostalgia for when I was a gamer.
Dude, OpenAnnihilation recently got released: Total Annihilation reverse-engineered with public source code!! We’ve gotta try it.
i can’t play much new on my legion go, and i am ok with this.
just restarted factorio last night. still can’t do it with default bug settings but hey thats ok.
Legion go that old?
This is a very strange use of this meme format
I know they’re not retro, but great games from the past 15 years still hold up a lot
Yeah, lol… Is Cyberpunk ‘retro’ yet? It’s actually quite playable these days, especially with a few choice mods on it.
I never got into cyberpunk stuff except know about the initial days drama, but I feel I still see cyberpunk mentioned regularly. What game is it comparable to? I might just give it a try.
Similar to? Hard to say… Gameplay-wise, I find it similar to the Far Cry series, really. First person shooter with a big open world and some RPG elements. But of course the setting and tone are vastly different. It’s also kind of like a dystopian future version of GTA. But it also has more emphasis on story than either of those, and player choice actually makes a difference in how the story turns out. That, combined with multiple possible character builds gives it some good replayability value – you can play it through once as a bulky nomad whose weapons of choice are grenades and heavy machine guns, and then play it through again as a slick former corpo who turns invisible and slits throats in the dark, and the experiences are different enough to make it feel like a brand new game. Plus, you know, the game world is pretty huge and also pretty dense, with lots of little nooks and crannies to explore. On my fourth playthrough right now, and I’m still discovering a few new things I’d never seen before.
That sounds more fallout than far cry, and fallout is my kind of game. Thank you!
The last few weeks, I’ve almost exclusively played Diablo 2 and RuneScape… Two remasters that came out over two decades ago.
Also chess, which is basically ancient. Zero regrets.
I’ve been on a Burnout Paradise replay and it’s just such a good game.
$60+ for a video game with more paywall-locked content is absolutely diabolical… My most expensive game is Factorio lmfao
eh… if I want to play a modern game… I’ll just wait for people to pirate and crack the newest “totally uncrackable game”.
Build Engine games my beloved. <3
