Sucks for the crew, did they even know they were headed to Israel before it was too late?
The Yemeni forces showed video, at least either Magic Seas, that they contact the vessel, inform them that they are violating a blockade, order them to slow their vessel and divert course or they “will be responsible for the lives and safety of their crew and vessel”, and repeat this warning multiple times. These BBC and American articles never mention that part, so I was surprised to hear it, but it seems the vessels are given plenty of warning and opportunity to avoid being sunk.
The ship didn’t head for Israel. The ship was operated by a company that had also sailed to Israel with a different ship.
Sinking civilian ships does nothing to help Palestinians.
The company was also willing to violate the blockade, it seems likely they’d change their destination once they passed the blockade.
You’re just making shit up to justify the murder of innocent sailors.
You just said another one of their ships went to Israel, and we know thus ship violated the blockade, do you think the other ship was broadcasting that they were headed to Israel the whole journey? Or are you saying my assumption was unreasonable?
How do you think aid gets delivered to Gaza? By ship to Israeli ports and then on to trucks.
The Houthis blockade is not a legal blockade according to international maritime law because its neither effective not discriminate. It’s piracy and terrorism against civilian vessels. It also has achieved nothing for Palestinians.
On the contrary, the convention on genocide not only allows the blockade, but requires every signatory try to stop it.
You should read up on what a naval blockade is and how it‘s supposed to be conducted.
