Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he considers freezing military operations along the current front line and shifting the conflict to the diplomatic track a realistic way to end the war.
He made the remarks in a special interview with U.S. television network Fox News, Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the broadcaster.
Asked whether Kyiv would accept a peace deal that froze the conflict along the current line of contact while leaving more than three-quarters of Ukraine’s territory under its control, Zelensky replied:
“Yes. If we have to freeze military operations right now, I think this is the most realistic way to end the war,” the Ukrainian leader said.
i understand you live in the empire and you get a lot of treats for being a good boy, but imperialism is not defined by starting a war. read a book.
What empire? Most of it fell apart decades ago, and I hardly support nations. Not sure why you need to be so condescending but from what I’ve seen there’s a clear aggressor who could stop just as easily as they started. The imperialism is the attempts to grab territory and use the reactions against it as an excuse to keep doing so. I’m not saying the other parties don’t also have their agendas, it’s the perfect excuse to test the waters of how a large scale war with Russia could pan out. But in the current situation Russia is one of the more visible threats. Anyway I don’t know why I’m bothering arguing in the ml echo chamber…
as far as i know the western empire is still participating in the slavery and labour theft, so no, it did not fell apart. but of course you’re going to deny it. that is not a definition of imperialism, you don’t understand what imperialism is. i don’t owe you kindness while you’re supporting the imperialist exploitation of ukraine by western capital and promoting the asiatic horde narrative.
Imperialism is the policy of expanding power through territorial gain, economic or political control. Ukraine is being exploited by both sides of this war and it’s imperialism from both fronts. That being said one side can easily stop being an aggressor. If you believe that there’s a “western empire” (I’m fully onboard with the idea that a group of people are attempting to manipulate geopolitics, it’s pretty clearly on display already) how can you not believe that Russia is involved in it or their own equivalent? Putin himself has said “where a Russian soldier sets foot, that is ours” when referring to the territory they’ve already taken. how is that not imperialism? The west is going downhill fast but the alternatives aren’t looking any better. Also on the note of the Asiatic horde comment, I never once made any comments on the Russian people themselves but if you’re going to jump straight to that then it’s hard to believe you’re discussing this in good faith.
