A guy was spotted digging in a dumpster near a Carrefour express. He found good stuff… some chocolate croissants and other bakery items still in a good state, maybe a day past the date.

Isn’t that illegal? The EU has banned food waste, so I believe Carrefour is obligated to give unsold food to an organisation that distributes it.

Intermarché refused to sell me a pizza that was 1 day past the expiration date. This same thing happened with beer some time ago. The beer was obviously still good, and I could see that the pizza was fine. Not sure what they did with it. Maybe they give to an org, as required, but they could have sold it to me.
