So, make a deal, build an airbase, declare it under US + Denmark + NATO protection. No need to conquer it to deter anyone.

People should read up on the subject a bit. The US already has an airbase on Greenland. They used to have many, but have closed all but one.

I wasn’t aware, but that doesn’t change my point. Build another if one isn’t enough, and then re-declare it under US + Denmark + NATO protection.

This would be the reasonable way. Guess it doesn’t stroke his imperialist ego enough though,so he has to be unreasonable about it instead.

They already can do that. US pretty much has unlimited military access to Greenland per the 1951 treaty, original text.

It’s not about defense and never was. It’s all about plain and simple imperialism.

He is. He’s lying. This is about getting strategic military positioning on europe, and valuable national resources.
