+1 Syncthing-fork Started using it a few months ago to sync notes between desktop and phone. Since it’s just a synced directory ive also used it to copy other files back and forth quickly

Boot up in the morning, shut down before bed. Small home server that uses about $1.50/month in electricity that i leave on 24/7 running jellyfin and mealie
I like to imagine I’m sitting by a river and remember that the thoughts are not mine, they are just part of the collective consciousness and flowing by. Not always easy, but this exercise is extremely helpful for me.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•A question for those who have a partner, how did you manage to do it and how long did it take?
2·14 days agoPlenty of Fish here too! It was my first time trying an online date after a bad breakup and my friends encouraging me to try it out. We talked on the phone for a couple weeks and then met for coffee and ended up talking for 3 hours. We’ve been together since (12+ years ago) and got married 8 years ago.

That way I can at least see who sold my info. I wish I would have started doing this long ago though. Some sites dont let you use the plus symbol even though it’s valid though

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is anyone just like... very terrified of losing your memories?
1·2 months agoEverytime you access a memory you change it. Create memoirs (journals, pictures, collages) to snapshot them at a point in time.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What are some bare minimum concepts beginner Linux users should understand?
4·2 months agoI’ve been using linux for years, but in limited contexts. With switching my primary desktop over this year I’ve found it helpful to stop by my local library and checked out some books on linux. I’m combining that with chatting with a locally running LLM. I’ve also setup an extra Raspberry Pi I had laying around with Ubuntu Lite as a sandbox OS to tinker with.
Maybe consider a portable sandbox setup like this you could quickly demonstrate or share?

That’s fair. I’ve been using the web interface to claim the games and the heroic launcher on my steam deck.
