  • Well, I can’t speak for him or his motivations, but lots (most?) of brand new niche communities on Lemmy start out with one poster.

It’s usually based on their passion, and it’s their hobby. Remember, that people are only doing this on a volunteer basis. If you wanna see more action in the community, and you count action as different people posting, then you are free post to that community.

I see this said on Lemmy a lot, and I agree: Be the change you wanna see.

Also, I have noticed that when it comes to conservative stuff, Lemmy would rather just hate and downvote rather than discuss.

  • that what I was thinking, revolver can pretty much be used forever, and .22 ammo is way cheap and easy to stock up on. Last time I went to gunshop here in my city, the guys obviously were trying to talk me into 9mm, and bigger guns. They def weren’t taking me seriously for wanting a .22 pistol. But I already have a 9mm, now I want a .22 pistol. lol So I’ll probably order one online, have it delivered to shop then pic up.

People seem to downplay them, but even back in the day, a lot of mob kills were done with .22 pistols. It can still get the job done when needed. I don’t plan on killing anyone obviously, but the inexpensive ammo and reliablity of a good revolver appeals to me

  • Yeah, I have heard of that scam. And I think it’s a real thing, but not in this case–at least for that scam. Because my vid shows her walking up and walking away alone.

But I think I’ve finally relaxed and am not as worried for her as I was. Lots of houses here. Lots of stores down the street less than a block away. And she didn’t run to or from my door. So whatever it was, it def didn’t appear life threatening as in she was in immediate danger.

I have two cars in my driveway as well. Truck and a jeep. So I don’t think anyone was scouting my house thinking I’m little old lady. I’ve watched the video over and over. No torn clothes. Hair was up in a neat bun. Wasn’t crying.

But the out of breath part and the saying she needed help because something terrible happened is what sorta is sticking with me. Even tho, since I wrote the post and cleared my thoughts a bit, who actually says that outloud when talking to themselves?! And the lack of urgency in the walking to and from my door is strange. But also, I know that people under stress react differently, so…

What does disappoint me tho, is how little the police seemed to worry about it. They just didn’t see it as a big deal. I played the vid. They agreed it was strange. But no one asked for copy of my vid or screen shot the vid or anything. I checked missing persons site for my area. Checked police blotter. No missing people that match this. So I guess I’ll just have to accept I did what I did. And if something does happen, then I have a time stamp, so I’m saving the vid.

  • My use of the “Mulch the rich crowd” as people who will, at least (or perhaps at most) express the desire to grind up billionaires, or maybe millionaires into more useful biomass, such as mulch for their vegetable garden or community allotment.

Seems to be happening today! How come no celebration? I remember seeing Lemmy posts where people wanted to see wall street burn to the ground! Then it’d get hundreds of upvotes. What happened? Where’s that crowd?! lol

Here’s the real reason, IMHO: Because for all of the anti-wall street talk, and the anti-wealth talk, the fact is that Lemmy users on average make more than most americans. So when shit like what’s happening happens, it actually affects them. The very fact that there are so many Lemmy’s worried about their stocks shows that they are the part of the very crowd the like to see destroyed. It was all for upvotes.

    Reality hits different.

Now as much as I would love to see this continue to happen. And Lemmy actually be as poor in reality as they pretend to be, I know the market dip won’t last. No millionares are gonna lose their status. All the crying Lemmys who are making $100K a year will be just fine, and they’ll continue acting like they make $15K a year and then watch their stocks rise in between fake justice warrior postings.

So yeah, I am fucking loving the news. Loving what is happening. And I think people are getting exactly what they deserve.

Also, I’m already poor. The wall street news hasn’t changed my life at all. No one tiny bit. Except that my little extra fun money is now being used on buying stock and crypto cuz it’s all cheap! lmao

  • Even though it happened while Trump was in office and fundamentally changed the world since Trump wasn’t the sole reason it doesn’t count?

That’s correct. It happened to the world. Trump couldn’t have prevented it. No one could have. And since it didn’t happen BECAUSE of him, I’m not scared it’s suddenly going to happen again just because he’s in office.

Would you be this afraid if Harris were in office? Because the odds of a pandemic are the same regardless of who is in office.

  • Sure, but the majority of the poor who democrats and Lemmy portray themselves to care so much about, do not own stocks.

And I have seen plenty of Lemmy posters decry the stock market and wish it would go away. Plenty of hate for wall street and the money makers.

So something bad happens to wall mart, and now Lemmy is mad. So maybe you can explain the discrepancy to me.

Doesn’t Lemmy want to watch Wall Street and the Stock Market burn down?

And on the flip side, does Lemmy think this stock market slump will last forever and never come back, so that money is gone forever?

OR will the market come back in a bit, the rich who buy all the cheap stocks and didn’t panic-sell, will get richer and then Lemmy will yell about how the lowlife dregs of humanity who are rich capitalized on it all and actually made more money? (Hint: This is what will happen. Please save my comment so we can revist it for proof)

And my last point is true, then wouldn’t it be better to just do what the rich do, not sell, and buy now? So you can profit as well?

My entire point is that Lemmy seems confused about what they should be mad about. Do you want to see Wall Street collapse or not? Is this a sign of the Wall Street collapse or not?
