Liberals fear fascism for a different reason then socialists, they are worried that the government will lie, seize and walk away with their investments however they see fit to pursue their nationalistic/monopolistic aims, hence the obsession with “Rule of Law”. They want their guarantees that they are included and protected in the capitalist umbrella, working class suffering is a non-factor.

The US billionaire class has gone full on drunk and it’s certainly something to see.

It also doesn’t help that Europe heavily played up the “territorial integrity” argument to justify why they so staunchly support Ukraine and oppose Russia. Of course, shameless hypocrisy is nothing new for them, but it’s still a terrible look politically.

Sounds like a bit of an awkward “what now?” situation for the US. They took out the person they played up as being a dictator running everything, congratulations, except ,surprise, the country wasn’t actually a one man dictatorship and nothing has changed.

It isn’t difficult to find Americans that oppose the Christian nationalist on the hard right, problem is the vast majority are completely useless. They fall into the trap of thinking that they must do everything the opposite way that fascists do and defang themselves in the process while the fascist continue playing to win.

They could be involved in manufacturing illegal drugs after all. The Japanese PM could be a Yakuza boss and it’s clear the LDP has been rigging elections.

I lean towards pure evil villains but either can work if done right. DBZ shines because of its villains and especially Frieza in particular. His personality was based off predatory real estate speculators during the Japanese economic bubble and it shows. He’s evil because he’s a spoiled brat born into an uncontested level of power like most bourgeoisie in real life are.

When humanizing villains it should be done to expose greater flaws, to show how material neglect can lead people to a life of crime and what not. Breaking Bad does this well with it’s characters.

Somewhere, in another universe that is unfortunately not ours, the UK would rapidly be developing plans to prepare for war against poverty and poor living conditions.

I’m genuinely scratching my head here regarding with the US’s plan here military assuming they indeed intend to go through with a ground invasion. Iraq was a massive logistical endeavor and the US back then had more better places to stage an invasion via Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Colombia has drifted from US influence and Brazil isn’t currently a puppet at that level either. If they put troops in Guyana it would be very obvious. Doing a naval invasion over a vast area of water is also extremely risky even with overwhelming military superiority. Invading with paratroopers would be even more disastrous.

That is true, during my brief time in Latam, I saw political advertisements all over the place for some white European looking guy while 99% of the population was Hispanic. With how desperate and impoverished people were there I felt a sense that any rich person from the US could go there and easily control the whole country if they wanted to. The sad truth is while poverty and rough conditions can drive some towards socialism, it can also drive some to bootlick as much as needed to get their hands on their own tiny slice of the pie, and I felt this dynamic pretty strongly in Latam.

Not going to lie, hearing this after all the other negative developments that have happening in South America really sours my moods and makes me genuinely pissed that people can be dumb or evil enough to vote for such a candidate. Like, calling him a Nazi isn’t even a metaphor this time, he is the LITERAL son of an official Nazi party member, with a matching political stance that checks out. I get that Boric was a spineless radlib that made it easy, and that the right has a massive advantage in terms of money and platforms being handed to them, but still…come on people. I need to take a time out before I angrily rant further.
