Technology@lemmy.world•Amazon BUSTED for Widespread Scheme to Inflate Prices Across the Economy— Amazon, its vendors, and competing retailers are price fixing, hiking up prices for consumer products, making Amazon richerEnglish
7·1 month agoI’ve tried, but some companies only sell their products on Amazon, even when going to the products website, they link back to Amazon when you click the Buy Now button.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How can we protect kids from the harms of social media without sacrificing everyone's privacy?English
10·1 month agoBetter parent supervision is the main way to combat these issues.
Companies should also either ban minors completely or allow parents to set up child accounts linked to their account with expansive parental controls that then can be migrated to full adult account once they reach legal age.
I don’t think either will happen because there are so many stupid and lazy parents in America that don’t care what their kids do as long as it’s not bothering them
Thank you for the recommendation, I will try out helium
Can you recommend a better browser that offers similar capabilities as brave, doesn’t have ai, and has a mobile app?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you buy real Christmas trees or put up artificial ones?English
1·4 months agoI use an artificial, don’t see the point of cutting down a whole tree for it to slowly die in your house over a month to then throw it out after.
If there were more services where you could rent the tree and then it gets put back in the ground after the season I would be all for it.
Artificial trees you buy once and you don’t need to replace it for years if not decades. Though would prefer if they started making them with biodegradable plastic

1·9 months agoI exclusively use Lemmy on my phone, only time I use reddit if I’m searching something and it pops up in the results because it usually has the answer or gets me closer to it

I love a game with good immersion and story telling . Couldn’t care less about graphics . Though, nothing breaks immersion more then getting through some crazy emotional plot event, and next scene the characters or town npcs are business as usual. Open world games are the worst when it comes to that.
Otherwise, games with good progressive, wether stats, optimization, or territory growth.
