  • Proton did not only hand over data to the Swiss courts, but the French courts via that. They didn’t just comply with national laws, but those of other countries.

That contradicts their virtue signalled interest in privacy, when they’re willing to surrender any data without even putting up a fight. They did not even try to argue in courts against handing over private data. And considering this lead to the arrest of the activist, it either obviously wasn’t encrypted or Proton had the means to decrypt it on their end.

You can’t just link Proton’s own PR speak as a source to counter that. Of course they would defend themselves.

  • It’s ironic how you want to point out flaws in my argument, complain about being insulted as a lib while you’ve been doing exactly that before me.

You’re making huge assumptions. I don’t talk like right wingers want me to. Neither those in Washington, nor those in Moscow. I argue like a Marxist should. Stating the truth and arguing for what is best in the long term.

I don’t spend time trying to convince “leftists” to not vote for Democrats. I couldn’t give a rats ass about what dumbass Americans do. I do not care to argue with liberals about politics. That is like trying to talk algebra with a toddler.

Lastly regarding the brain-dead OP. He isn’t arguing for less genocide and oppression instead of more. He’s arguing for any amount of genocide and oppression instead of arguing for none. That is what democrats are. They don’t want the lesser evil to avoid the greater evil. They want evil for evils sake.

All I said is that I’m glad they’re suffering from their own stupidity now. Outside the bubble of the US, Trump was overwhelmingly positive for the rest of the world. He meant a shrinking and slow isolation of the US empire, letting the rest of the world breathe a bit. Europe has to seriously consider becoming independent, at least until Trump is out again and China has been able to grow diplomatically and economically despite the trade war leading to a slightly more multipolar world. The decline of the US empire is a win for the world, it gives room for the possibility of change.

  • If you do not care, why share your shit opinion anyway?

You seem to have no idea what actual war or revolutions are like if you think you’ll have ice cream trucks drive up to you after bombing a city into the ground. Plundering a foreign country and getting food from home and fighting a civil war that disrupts if not outright destroys the economic base of the country that supplies your army are completely different things. I’m sure your Navy seal ass with over 300 confirmed kills would know that.

Also what do Russia and Ukraine have to do with us fighting your hypothetical revolution?

Because those see quite literally 90% the same military equipment. During the uprising and during the war now. If you can’t see how that matters, then I don’t know what to tell you.

But I’m sure Mr. Crayon eater here knows better than the military leaders of actually successful revolutions of the past.

  • Technological advances do not change societal upheaval.

Revolutions don’t fight the military in symmetrical warfare.

Militaries can defect, they can be sabotaged, their bases besieged, their supply lines disrupted, their forces stretched too thin, etc.

In ideal circumstances no revolution would have to fight one united military. Parts would defect or declare neutrality. Those who fight have finite supply and finances. What will a soldier do when he runs out of bullets and more importantly rations?

But in the absolute worst case, it will either lead to a more bloody victory or the military would have to literally depopulate the country with lethal force to establish their rule.

Also the 90s are not so far from your 2005. The majority of the military equipment Russia uses today in Ukraine is the same as during the Black October in 93.
