When he finally made it, he quickly realized he wouldn’t stay PM for long if he did, not only because the people in power wouldn’t let him if he was to push another voting system, but that his party probably wouldn’t win another election ever. I think he could have done it and started a strong/young party, fully embrace the change albeit taking a chance people wouldn’t vote for him. But he’s a traditional political boy.

After the french revolution, the people who took over did the same exact thing as before, and abused their power. When Lenin finally took over and gave Russians free elections, they didnt vote for him. He said fuck them and took power anyway. It do be like that for these types.

You can’t teach/explain everything. Small warnings and you can talk about it when it happens, when they understand. You shouldn’t need to prove they’re crazy or that you’re sane. Most people who do aren’t.

I do argue it in moderation, but I prefer to tackle critical thinking in general, and hope he learns to draw his own conclusions. He recently got over that the earth is not flat and that those conspiracies don’t hold water. He’s even starting to identify content on tiktok that is framed in a certain way.

Maybe we’ll get there one day!

Edit: Tbf he’s a mechanic, and a good one at that, so flat earth was an easy topic. He managed to understand we can’t make oldschool carburators with flat earth physics, and he knows how those work. It’s like if I tried to convince him displacement in an engine isn’t real, just invented by big oil.

A person like that doesn’t handle her own portfolio, and their trades are public. Nothing prevented you from trading the exact same stonks they did.

Politicians shouldn’t trade because they can still manipulate the bigger picture, favor corporations and move the economy a certain way. Not because they are sitting on Robin Hood at night making money.

Do both, vote for the lesser evil and demand change by protesting. Those are not mutually exclusive concepts. You are definitely not going to get change by not voting, all you are doing is allowing the more evil to win and prevent you from protesting ever again.
