I think he knows being from the US himself…

Tesla’s start at over 30.000 euros! That’s not a cheap car by no means!
Plus: there is a huge problem at the top of Tesla. It’s not the subject here but I cannot close my eyes on Greenland’s fate just for a car. I have the same reservation over Tibet or the Uyghurs for other brands.

The new twingo is the exact same price in constant euros as the first gen twingo that came out in 1993.
Besides that, prices of EVs are not more expensive over 5 or 10 years despite the shown price because you run them at a much much cheaper price : electricity is often cheaper than gas, the only real cost you would have to pay is tires and shock absorbers, breaks pads and disks get used a lot less because of regen, no belts or chains, no spark plugs, no oil change, no exhaust, no turbo, no belts driven AC, no starter motor, no alternators etc… All those things that cost a lot in mechanic repairs for most cars.

For over 500km/day, I use the train. Not many people put on 115 500 km/year on their car. You are an exception.

You meant Renault? They made the Zoe back in 2014, then made the Megane only electric, made the Spring through their Dacia subsidiary, now the 5, and they are launching the new Twingo generation as only electric. This makes them cover all EV segments, from the sub 20.000 euro electric car to the 60.000 one through alpine. They use more and more European made batteries and motors. Out of all the European car makers Renault and Mercedes are the ones that are the most pro electric now.

Weirdly enough, not winning will get weapons sold, will make shale sands petroleum worthy to pump, will make Saudi Arabia’s budget balance, makes the EU more dependant on cooperating with their new big petrol and gaz seller …
If you think about it, they were very slow to move anything towards helping Iranian civilians… As if they didn’t want friendlies in power right now…

Venezuela’s got big oil reserves but is limited in the extraction by older extraction tech, you’ll need a few years before extraction can be better, if big oil invests… I’m not sure the conditions are right (beyond the next 3 years)

Even if you have oil in the ground, you still are subjected to the price of oil and gaz, your area’s prices, sure, but it’s going up across the board.
Proprietary blobs are also present throughout regular linux distributions. And I hear and participate with the moans they generate but users understand that sometimes modems, wireless chips or GPUs (main culprits) have us stuck at the onset of using Linux at all. Debian had to reverse it’s procedure from a default free only to default mix and user has to specify if he doesn’t want proprietary firmware installed. Even graphene OS has to make do with proprietary firmware.
Jolla has sailfish OS as the official ROM and it has for quite a few years now (for all their past phones). It’s not marketed as a dev experimental.

There is an app on flathub.

I wonder if there is a mix up in our minds between the use of auto-tune to “correct” a voice track and the voluntary use of extreme auto-tune options to create music out of an otherwise bland track (like daft-punk used to do…).
I’m not a musical artist so I don’t know exactly how far auto-tune goes or if you can classify all voice mods as auto-tuning.

Yeah… I don’t think it will harm economic growth (it’s just Goggle, Microsoft etc who won’t get maintenance and sys admin contracts, plenty of other probably will) . But let’s entertain Google’s point of view: even if we sacrifice a bit of economic growth, at least we’ll not get blackmailed by those who threaten us. Whereas right now? We’re threading very muddy waters.

My two bank apps (société générale and N26 ) don’t. They only needs a locked bootloader, I run them fine within iodé OS.

That’s good to keep it fixed value. The transfers are decentralised but it is attached to something real. All the benefits of crypto without the dangers.

Because it’s all a waste of dev time, over the past year the french government made all kink of foss tools instead of helping out pre-existing projects.
I’m in constant face palm mode with them. Remember their collaborative suite? remember their e2e messenger?
Of course you don’t. Because they are irrelevant! Even within french public services.

I haven’t heard them say what format will be included in the torrent, say it’s 20 TB blocks of secured archival format. Then you would have to download that full volume ( at least, there are ways to force you to download the full 15 set of 20 TB archives) before decompressing it and see files as is, that would rendering streaming or casual downloading impossible under current tech.
And that’s ok.
Anna’s archive isn’t there to cater to today’s wants but to protect what might disappear tomorrow.
Let’s call it a mindful use of missiles, you know… So you don’t deplete 1/4 of your missiles in that one category you really need.
