Surprised they still work. Nest smoke alarms are a dead product. Find something better now to replace them with.
They were amazing tech created by a Boulder start-up to reinvent home safety, but Google murdered them.
Already EOL and discontinued.

Depends on the market too, some US states have a requirement that if the power company has to increase capacity, it’s on the power company’s dime.

Or run a mesh radio for MeshCore.

You’d think they would have learned that from the cloud or any SaaS provider multiple times over already.

Comfortable enough to not be a hair’s-breadth near death every day of your life, apparently. Try America brah. It is wild.
Don’t flout your success at being old. We don’t have that luxury.

Unfortunately the “comforts” are basic life things like medications to live and being able to live in your home.
We aren’t talking about having Netflix. You protest, you miss work, you are fired, you lose your income, no safety net, no healthcare, loans and debts take your home car (very little public transport that works in much of the country) and life away, and you and your entire family are homeless on a street corner and possibly dying. Inside of 2 weeks for a majority of Americans. Even insulin is hard to acquire without “the system”.
2026 will be known in the history books as The Great Dumbening.

Dem congress yes. Doing their job? No. Even when they’ve had a supermajority in the last 30 years they still hid behind Republicans to not pass legislation. Need new parties.

Just a little bit of history repeating…

My favorite edition is yt-dlp.

Tokens are an AI context of units of text. Could be a character or a word. Why use the term tokens instead of words? Who knows. Maybe because some units aren’t words? The tech industry delights in creating stupid terms for things that already had terms.

Even when they have had majorities in the past, they always hide behind Republicans as to why they can’t get actual legislation to fix the country done.

Any time China’s dubious claims are challenged on the lemmies, downvote city. Makes one wonder.

Federal Democrats are just the other side of a corrupt oligarch coin. Of course they are scared.

And closed-loop cooling. But then it will still emit heat, which should be captured in a downstream process.

Snap Inc. is its own company. Not that it is a good company.

Many of these schools forbid stuff like this
Coming soon to a USA near you: Constitutional amendment 28: Freedom of oppression. Indoctrination starting at the college/university level.
Have you heard of cable? Broadcast? Satellite? This already existed. That was the experience. Flip channels to find a show that’s good enough and find something new along the way.
But that’s the real thing that happened. It was never about tech “disrupting” TV any more than it was Uber “disrupting” cabs.
It was just tech going, “hey we want to be in cable, let’s take over and replace cable.”
Swapping one base technology for another, and price-dancing the whole way there, so when your streaming service costs $300/mon, it has been so long that you forgot $80/mon cable used to exist. Read-only services that couldn’t serve you dynamic ads every 3 seconds while profiling your home network and watching your cat through a webcam to figure out what litter coupons to e-mail you next week.
The cable guy screaming in the middle of the street on the streaming service South Park was spot on.
