They wanted to make it clear that it was not meant for a king.

Its about HOW the money is made. If we lived in a meritocracy the way they claim, then you can measure how hard someone works by their wealth, and you’re gonna sit there and tell me there are people who work a BILLION times harder than the average person? Get the fuck outa here. Billionaires only exist because they are taking more than they deserve, and its gotta come from somewhere. They are stealing from all of us and devaluing our labor.

I think we need a better definition for “work”. Work, to me, is an obligation. People work in order to feed and house themselves. So let’s says someone has $10mil. That is more than enough to easily live off the interest. I would say anyone at that level of wealth never actually works because they have the option to stop at any time, which in my mind makes it a hobby.

Its probably over dramaticized, but it follows FBI agent John O’Neil played by Jeff Daniels. It shows how frustrating it was to deal with the Bush administration. O’Neil was fired and went to work security at the WTC and was killed by the attack.

I didn’t bother to read the articles, but I think it’s about housing prices being driven up because of air bnb. So maybe stay in a hotel if you go there?

Is he saying the whole thing was a hoax and that kids weren’t raped? That seems like such a basic question for a reporter to ask. He gets away with saying all this shit because reporters just let him.
Theses people think way too highly of themselves. All of them are easily replaceable.

Less than a month before the election he denied a potentially innocent man a stay of execution even after the victim’s family asked him to. He is a straight up murderer as well as everyone who supports him.

Its a good bet that whoever replaces him will just be a yes-man, and things will crash.

It’s a good thing. There are too many people here already. My thought on reading the headline was that it could be used in a different way. Everyone could be voluntarily sterilized, and then when they are ready and willing to have a kid they could use this new method to produce sex cells. No more unwanted pregnancies.
School_Lunch@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Could North Korea covertly send nukes to another nation?7·2 months agoSure. Anyone with nukes could give them to anyone else, but what happens after? If someone gave Iran nukes, then what’s to stop the US or France or somebody giving nukes to Ukraine or Taiwan. Ultimately it’s too big a risk. Even if two countries are close allies now doesn’t mean they will always be, and the nukes can’t be taken back once given.
They don’t raise the standard of living for the poor because they view labor as a commodity. If we made things less difficult for the poor then the price of labor will go up because people wouldn’t be as desperate. Their goal is to make the price of labor as low as possible.
