West Virginia is already filled to the brim with xenophobic fascists; there’s no need for the state to waste money it doesn’t have indoctrinating students who deserve a real education.

Needing a supermajority to prevent a proposal from coming into force seems backwards.

If they can get people to pay $1,500 fees for access, surely that money would be better directed towards installing fiber in these rural areas to circumvent the need for highly expensive satellite infrastructure?

It frustrates me whenever a YouTube channel takes a sponsorship from Ground News, because they treat ideological bias as something that’s evenly balanced and equally problematic from both sides, when in reality the overton window of what counts as left-wing keeps getting dragged further and further to the right with the resurgence of fascism around the world.

All the money being poured into Star Citizen makes me wish Microsoft realized the demand for games in the genre and gave Freelancer a proper AAA remaster (and sequel if successful), but the fan-made Freelancer HD Edition does at least modernize the game somewhat.

It’s missing Digital Anvil, the developer of the space trading game Freelancer.

Here’s a proper article discussing the accusation against Trump; Fox News of course flips things around and accuses the Democrats of trying to politicize the event.

Of course, this raises questions over just how granular and potentially invasive Microsoft’s telemetry can be. In this case, it was used to arrest an alleged hacker, but what if someone else, someone with malign intentions, were to get access to all this data instead?
Microsoft already has access to it.

They will still become worthless once Nintendo shuts down the Switch 2 servers, making piracy the only viable form of game preservation at that point beyond whichever means Nintendo will have to get people to buy the games a second time on a new platform.

The $60 → $70 price increase was just Nintendo being greedy, so the metaphorical “carrot” in this context is raising the price of physical copies to $80 to make the digital price seem like a good deal in comparison (diminishing physical sales further as an excuse to get rid of them entirely), while the “stick” is the game key cards that take any meaning away from owning physical media in the first place.
In any case, disagreement is no reason to insult the intelligence of other users.

I’m supportive of The Canary’s reporting on Israel’s genocide, but they’re throwing their credibility away by categorizing Russian propaganda as credible reporting.

Seems like French museums need better security.

They could have used the carrot, but pure greed means they’re now opting for the stick.
By raising the prices for all their games, raising them again for physical copies, and allowing the use of game key cards, Nintendo decided the carrot or stick alone just wasn’t profitable enough, and thus chose both.

Alberto Fujimori is her father.

Of course; China’s claim to being the defender of the global south against neo-colonialism is a form of neo-colonialism itself.
Versus data collection by Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other tech companies, and spying through them by the federal government?
