All small co-ops or Lidls in the UK will have bins at the back, and those are normally easy to access to. Just go for a walk and explore before you take anything. Look for cameras, but be relaxed about it. When you feel confident about it, go back after closing time, wear gloves, carry a torch and tots or large shopping bags. Try not to break in into locked dumpsters/bins. Don’t make a mess. Be quick and act swiftly. Don’t be greedy, take only what you can carry. Avoid meat or fish if already defrosted and/or warm. If caught don’t argue back, be polite and leave. Last but not least, you shouldn’t be ashamed of what you are doing, and most of the security around these places feel the same about the shameful way these corps conduct their business. Good luck!

Not trying to be bellicose at all but, to my taste, Orwell’s best fiction is in his early books. And I find “Animal Farm” and “1884” rather unsophisticated when compared to other dystopian novels like “We” or “Brave New World”.
