  • The obfuscation is on purpose. The media (which, I must remind you, is all completely owned by the billionaire class) is afraid that in telling you who and what Blackstone is, there will be cheering for the death of this person instead of remorse. This is due to the whiplash they experienced in reporting on the death of that healthcare CEO back in December.

Expect more of the same kind of reporting going forward if/when a capitalist dies from misfortune.

  • “I suffered therefore you must suffer too even if it doesn’t have to be that way”

I see this sentiment a lot whenever the subject of increasing the minimum wage comes up. A lot of people think it’s unfair that a teenager should be making $15 $20 an hour when they only made $5 $8 when they were a teen. And they are currently only making around $20 an hour themselves. I have literally seen this exact statement on discussions of increasing the minimum wage:

“No teenager should be making close to the same amount that I am. They don’t need that kind of money.”

You are 100% correct that it’s selfishness and I would add that it’s also a complete lack of empathy as well.

This is one of the things that pisses me off about the Star Trek “fans” who point to the Replicator tech (which wasn’t introduced until the Next Generation series) as the reason humanity was able to end scarcity. No, it absolutely was not what ended scarcity in the Star Trek universe. What ended scarcity was the absolute end of capitalism. We have now and have had for over a century, the capability to end world hunger and provide housing for every man woman and child on the planet. We don’t do it because it would remove the overinflated value of those things as well as the obscene wealth of the rich.

How Allie Beth Stuckey is holding the line on the right.

This is about not empathizing with the “wrong people” and making sure to see everything through a “Christian” lens. I put Christian in quotes because this isn’t according to the actual teachings of Jesus Christ but the interpretation of the Christian Fundamental movement which sees anyone who doesn’t identify as one of them as an enemy to be either converted or destroyed and anyone not confirming to the “natural” standard (I.E. Trans and Homosexuals) should be condemned as irredeemably immoral. These people are basically the ISIS of Christianity.
