

I guess for me it’s all just a kind of sane-washing. I think the term far right is a nice way of saying “not quite full-on fascist.” The “far right” is basically in charge of the conservative party in the US. To the extent that a large part of the “progressive” party could be classified as “the right” (and many of them classified themselves that way not that long ago!). Calling something “far-“ anything denotes fringe beliefs, and I think the window has shifted far enough on the right that anything short of folks who knowingly, actively, and proudly fly fascist flags are just “the right.” The bulk of the party now openly champions ideas that were considered fringe not very long ago.
It is cute that some people still think the US is a nation of laws!
