tmpfs is overkill. I just use a crappy old 128G SSD and it’s still way faster than needed for all of my transcodes combined.
Anyway just my 2 cents.

Come to Philly: everyone hates us and we don’t care. Also, good food.

I’m still on there, primarily because a band I’m in uses it for events invites and uses Messenger for coordination group texts

The course is not the point, it’s a question of how on earth you edge out an advantage against 36+ other drivers in virtually identical cars who are also trying to out plan and out drive you.
I’m not even a NASCAR fan, but this criticism is dumb, sorry.

Do you think NASCAR drivers aren’t thinking? I mean really, this is like saying football is pointless because the field is rectangular and each team is always going towards the opposite team’s side to score points.
Because the course is boring and the cars are the same, it’s 100% a question of skill and teamwork. Who can outplay whom?
Anyhow I don’t especially like watching it, not a motorsports guy in general, but this criticism is not terribly good IMO.

Are still significantly slower than NASCAR pit stops, and even if you could get them that fast, you’d also need to make the pit stops more frequently because you’d run out of charge faster than wearing down your tires at those speeds.

Is chess a pointless sport because everyone starts with the same pieces in the same positions every game?

No extradition
Everybody still knew the time before clocks, it was just less strict

I really like the design of the Dodge Charger EV, but the super loud speaker blasting fake engine sounds is dumb (yeah I know you can turn it off, but ew) and the thing is notoriously unreliable.
Anyhow yeah, my Kona EV looks like a non-EV Kona. People mostly only notice that cars are electric when they’re a wacky design or charging in public.

Zorin and Mint are pretty similar, I wouldn’t stress about it as long as you’re happy with what you have

… You can use the Ubuntu installer. Mint is just Ubuntu with a more Windows-like desktop and some other tweaks that debatably make it more user friendly

Dawn of the dead was alright, but the original was much better

I’m not saying it couldn’t, just pointing out the nurture side of the debate

This is why I use international index funds primarily. Small cap is also a solid hedge

Open source models exist that can run on small devices for free. There are also some that need a chonky PC to run and have decent output quality. LLMs as a tool aren’t going to go away, but the AI industry is going to go through a massive contraction.

Male cats are also more inclined to wandering due to feline mating habits. The males typically get kicked out of their birth family upon reaching maturity to prevent incest, whereas the females lead and organize the clan. So the males need to wander till they find a family to join as adults.
The exact mechanisms of how this works aren’t really relevant to a discussion about humans since we don’t really operate the same way, at least not universally.
There are 2 types of death metal lyrics: the type written by a real life surgeon that needs a medical dictionary to decode, and oooooooooreoreoreooooooo
I’ve been using the same 10+ year old 128G SSD for transcoding, cache, and metadata storage for like 6 years now across multiple tiny servers (as I’ve upgraded) with limited RAM. My current one has 16G of RAM, which is more than enough for JF, but not enough to store a whole movie transcode, let alone multiple at once. Refycled small old SSDs are a lot cheaper and easier to come by than RAM these days, that’s all I’m saying. No hate of course, your setup makes sense for what you have, I’m just saying my way is cheaper and more than fast enough for people just building their servers now.
