It’s not that easy. There aren’t thousands of competing events where a lot of the world peacifully competes with one another in a peaceful manner. The world cup is far from ideal, but I feel it plays an important role.

I think of it as a simpler alternative to pumped hydro when all you need is heat. It kind of dumb to waste the great pumped hydro resources that can store electricity on heating stuff. So, this can cover their heating needs during bad weather, and they can used pumped hydro for the rest.

I agree this would be nice, but there aren’t that many players overall. In any case, if you play a dozen games, you should know enough to have a shot at winning (or at least not get crushed right away).

In general I agree with you, but llms are the one exception where it’s not practical and not cost effective to run them locally. If you want to use them, the better option is by far to pay someone for the service.

I completely agree with you. I think what the US needs is more readily available AND relatively healthy food options. As a European, walking through the isles of an American grocery shop is utterly depressing.
