ThumbKey made the difference for me. Completely new way to define touchscreen keyboards, but after some months now, I can type blindly on a touchscreen 👍. Caveat: in the beginning typing will be very, very slow.

I guess there are some filter lists out there already, to get a head start.

Laughed my ass off at the taped banana. I am not even interested in what the artist thinks or means. I am entertained, that is what I expect of art.
Like in London, there was this big-ass room dedicated to a giant chair and a giant table, you could walk under. Heated, in the middle of a freezing winter. Like, the homeless were freezing out on the streets, and here we are as a society, heating a room for a chair and a table nobody could use. Just take in the absurdity, and you have to laugh at this shit to compensate and stay sane.
Did that three times, got three times “random” checked, returned my customer card and buy in another store now. Solid 5/7, perfect experience 😅

But, to be fair, I do have easy users: they basically just send texts, emojis and an occasional picture.
I did not like the admin side of things too much so far, but I recently migrated to a Docker setup, which seems easier to maintain.
There are notable exceptions, LOTR comes to mind, well executed adaption IMO.

It floods in India, story develops. It floods 300 years later in South America, story develops. For all they knew, it was the whole world that flooded. They could not check back, whether it flooded on different continents.
kossa@feddit.orgto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your harmless/low-stakes conspiracy theory?Deutsch1·1 month agoI think the assembling is the crucial part as you stated. I mean, buttons can also be manufactured in scale by a robot, but every button needs to be wired, the touchscreen only once.
kossa@feddit.orgto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your harmless/low-stakes conspiracy theory?Deutsch7·1 month agoWell, concerning the floods: flooding is still really bad and usually affects a huge area. Normally it is not like one village floods and everybody dies and the next village is completely fine. So, for people who do not get around a lot it might feel like the whole world was flooded. Then maybe they hit a few bad years in a row, and BAM, God or somebody wants to punish humanity story confirmed.

Tells you everything you need to know about war. First book which made me cry. Everybody should read it.
Requiem for a Dream
It’s different though, you swipe to get to the other characters instead of clicking the button more often. T9 was awesome in its time, but it also kind of relies on a dictionary, like the swiping on “standard” smartphone keyboards. In ThumbKey you type every single character, but it is fast, if you internalize the layout.
