I’ve devoured all of Blake Crouch’s sci-fi books and enjoyed them all thoroughly. I have had his Pines trilogy in my To Read list for too long though.
After not enjoying DCC book 1 very much, I finally got bullied into carrying on and am half way through book 2 and enjoying it a lot more.
I do find that at times it seems like someone has tried to write a story in the margins of a TTRPG players handbook, but I guess that’s the appeal in a way.
Mallrats. The extended cut is just awful and Kevin Smith agrees.
Just about to finish Red Dwarf : Titan. The new prequel book co-written by the late Rob Grant. It pulls a lot from the lore of the Red Dwarf universe, but in a good way. It certainly “feels” like Red Dwarf, which is good in my mind.
I’ve read all the Red Rising books and it is by and far one of my favourite series. Darrow is an amazing character and although it’s epic sci-fi I didn’t find myself losing track of all the characters. I think I’ve read them twice and listened to the audiobooks.
I didn’t go much on book one of DCC, but I have been bullied into book two by too many people, so I will see how I get on.
Just finished reading The Many by Sylvain Neuvel (Wrote Sleeping Giants series). It’s going to get compared to Pluribus, but I found it different enough to enjoy. Interesting premise.
Now starting There are Rivers in the Sky, after a 5 star review from a friend. Completely out of my wheelhouse, it being neither Sci-fi or Horror, but I’m enjoying it so far and will see how it goes.

I’d say yes. It focuses on a new, uplifted animal from the same world as the spiders and fleshes out the aftermath of the original earth conflict.
Currently reading Children of Strife by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Book 4 in the series. Really good, but jumps around a lot. Certainly not one to read an hour a night. Really needed longer sessions to keep all the characters in my head 😁

They should give this book to English school kids. They might actually enjoy their History lessens then.
Switched the laptop to Linux Mint about 6 months ago. After a month of no problems with that, bit the bullet and installed it on my main Gaming PC. I don’t play anything that needs anti cheat and everything else has worked fine. Got VR streaming wireless to the Meta Quest 3 working and Sunshine/Moonlight setup to the Steam Deck for couch gaming.
I am a nerd though and have been using Linux from a server perspective for years. I still don’t know if it’s ready to suggest it to someone that is less technical, but it’s certainly getting there.
If the memoir is Future Boy, then it is very good. Crazy what that kid managed to do in that year of filming
