Yeah. Honestly it might be a good idea to start a community project that’s a “nix2everyDistro”, and then go around and open PRs on FOSS projects to wire their project up to build in nix + output “every distro”

Yes

Where did they out the evidently much larger amounts of housing/building demolition rubble?

I kinda wish we could federate jellyfin instances. Just manually, with friends I trust. Would instantly expand everyone’s catalogue.

Are you sure you aren’t either applying nixpkgs overlays, or following master instead of nixos-unstable? I’ve not really experienced anything like you’ve described.
Anyways - I’ve additionally built my own cache server, which builds every output of my flake every time I push to main. System updates are ONLY downloads now. Also allowed all of my low-powered VMs to auto-update, since they’ll never need to build anything at all.

How about only apply to non-FOSS software? Most hobby projects used not just by the author altend to be FOSS, and businesses can decide to go FOSS, making their software independently auditable by anyone, or go through certification.
I guess there’s a danger of a campaign to re-brand FOSS as “uncertified” then…

Source: I have had one of these for approx. 10 years, it’s done probably 100 wash cycles.

No :(

nixos-rebuild switch

Is there actual REQUIRED upkeep though or could you say fuck it, and go ashore with a tent, row boat and the freshwater and food required for a week?

OK I’m curious. Would I be allowed:
Yeah, that’s my point. I never got around to putting things in Debian repos or the AUR because shit seemed unnecessarily complicated. Now on NixOS, I happily help maintain a bunch of packages and modules. Because the packaging, build system, and OS are just sane, stable, and a joy to work with!

I have multiple young-ish (30s) friends that don’t own a phone (not just smartphone; any phone), and basically all people I know above 80 years don’t own one either.
You can absolutely live a perfectly fine and good life without a smartphone. You’re just drawing the line where it’s convenient for you.
Or let’s put it in more familiar words…
