We get it, you were born with this knowledge, but the rest of us have to learn it from others

What is affinity

I did it once before to satisfy the email “requirement” for nextcloud (ended up getting rid of that self hosted email though) and when I sent emails to family members’ gmail and outlook accounts they didn’t get caught in the spam filter. I am aware that this is a small sample size, but I am willing to try it out at least.

Money
More than once, now that I think about it

Haha I ended up moving to proton, which at the time (around 10 years ago) seemed like a good idea. Now I am just going to self host my email.

Yeah but also fuck data centers, I hope they both lose

I’ve used riseup in the past and agree with their worldview (for the most part) and they run the service well, but I had to leave them when I became more privacy conscious as they are headquartered in the United States. They could get a national security letter and I could be getting spied on and never know it. The NSL could direct them not to take down their warrant canary, too.

Exact same situation with me. Going to start this weekend on self hosting email and then the transition process. I still have around 6 months left on my proton subscription, so enough time to move everything.
not clammy enough

Anybody thinking clean energy promises are a good thing has never heard of Jevon’s Paradox
The shitty history and shitty present of my country are almost completely the fault of the fucking yanks. I enjoy watching them suffer
You sound angry
I don’t care, I am enjoying watching your country die. You and your people have fucked my country over for a century, you are getting exactly what you deserve. Now you get to experience a little bit of what the rest of us experience.
Your country deserves exactly what it’s getting

While I do agree, reddit has been shown to un-delete comments that were mass deleted in the past if the user used a script
Not even close. Reactionary movements grow when standards of living drop while costs simultaneously rise, especially if the shift is significant. Much of this is usually attributed to weakening energy inputs (or at least a rise in their cost), as energy is foundational to post-industrial societies. Organized movements will latch onto cultural issues like “pronouns” in an attempt to divert blame for the deterioration in living towards an easy exploitable marginal group so that elites avoid things like guillotines. “Pronouns being in emails” is merely incidental and is not even close to how a movement like MAGA started or rose.
