First clean plate, and a new high score for me!

    spoiler for the pangram

It took me a while to see “chalkboard,” but once I did, I noticed that you could also do “blackboard.” That racked up quite a few points.

  • People give Windows a lot of flak for this, but at least it usually does turn off after finishing its updates.

MacOS is the one that will just literally ignore the fact that you told it to shut down. Or it takes forever to tell you that a program has unsaved changes. At least Windows will tell you that right away, so that you see the “something is preventing shutdown” message before you walk away from the computer. Your Mac will wait 15 minutes, and then be like, “by the way, the browser doesn’t want to close.”

Never gotten a perfect clean plate!

Nice! I still haven’t, but today was my first pangram. And apparently you get extra points for getting the pangram as your first word. It says “frik” because I was one letter away from getting down to just the one other letter remaining.

I think Smush is my current favorite word game. I like that there’s a strategy to waiting for a better multiplier, but some risk to not putting a good word down right away, since you might run out of letters to make that word later.

  • Some kind of “empathy score.” Not sure what the formula would be, but it would reflect how readily they feel empathy for another person, and how many other people they can care about.

A narcissist would have a 0 – they can only care about themself. Someone with very limited empathy would have a small number – say, they can only care about their immediate family, and they need to really get to know someone before they care about that person. People who naturally care about others, even if they don’t know the other person, would have high numbers.

This number would sometimes just flat out tell you that certain people should be avoided, or certain conversations are pointless with that person. Or if you do need to try to convince them of something, the number may show you how to frame the conversation. E.g., show how it’s in their own interest if they have a low number.

  • If you’re looking for other Capcom fighting games that won’t bug you about buying addons, the Marvel vs. Capcom Collection has Marvel vs Capcom 2, as well as the older MvC games. And Capcom Fighting Collection 2 has Capcom vs. SNK 2.

The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection has SF3, although I think people were disappointed with that one and I forget why.

But yeah, I get what you’re saying. I dug up my Dreamcast recently, and it’s so refreshing how every game is just… the entire game. Like, the whole thing is there, on the disc. If you have it, you have all of it.
