The reason people say that Arch is unstable is that you are expected to read the news on the website before every update or else your system is liable to be broken – and sometimes it will break in spite of that. Oh, and the expectation is that you’ll be updating multiple times per week, and if you don’t, you will soon be in a situation where to install any package you must update your entire system.
Most other distros place no such expectations on the user.
It’s harder when you can’t even talk about “the 00s” gracefully, though. How do you say that?

Calling it a “one-man spam campaign” when that one man does not send any of the emails himself (well ok, he probably sent a few himself) is pretty rich. Good article, terrible title and lede.

Using Plasma Wayland on Debian sounds like you’re deliberately setting yourself up for a lot of pain.
I was under the impression that libsvtav1 was still underdeveloped, but turns out the ffmpeg documentation for it was just lacking. Looks to be pretty good quality and even supports two-pass (which the documentation doesn’t mention).
I wish they made a 100x leap to the AV1 encoder. Even on my 12900k it runs at like 0.001x real time, which is… well, unusably slow.
That’s called a partial update and is strongly discouraged by the Arch Linux documentation.
