Not only the US. The right-wing politicians in my western European country hopped on that ‘antifa=terrorism’ bandwagon pretty quickly to put a bunch of climate activists on the terrorist watch list.
Environmental activists has been targeted for a while already and governments doesn’t seem to care about the use of their police to crack down on them so hence accomplices.
Sure, there were lots of comments already from the politicians. Still I found it striking that the terrorism list news arrived around the same time as the antifa stories. As if they finally had a good excuse.
I was just commenting on how environmental activists the government never cares on cracking down with police forces and it seems a topic major news media seem to avoid covering broadly
As outlined in OFAC’s FAQ 1190, the United States does not sanction persons for engaging in political speech or other constitutionally protected activities. As outlined in E.O. 13224 of September 23, 2001, however, “violent acts and acts dangerous to human life, property, or infrastructure, that appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, or to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion” are defined as terrorism.
In 2001, we decided “the appearance of coercion to change government policy” was terrorism. That checks out.
Autistici Inventati identifies itself as an “anti-fascist” and “anti-militarist” organization opposed to capitalism and exclusively provides its services to vetted individuals, collectives, and groups it perceives to be aligned with its ideology
Can terrorism even be terrorism without militarism? Oh right, coercion. My bad.
Oregon-based Rose City Antifa has relied on A/I Collective tools and services to organize and incite violent and criminal acts domestically, including an attack on Customs and Border Patrol helicopters that led to a federal indictment. Rose City Antifa also used A/I Collective tools and services to disseminate doxing lists and release illegally obtained personal information of Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement, along with calls for targeted attacks on ICE agents in the streets and “in their homes.”
Seriously, what are they talking about regarding the helicopter thing and the alleged “calls” - the only reference to helicopters I can find is an alleged flyer that’s now locked behind a Twitter wall. It’s not on Wikipedia.

The only major news media i have seen cover the topic more broadly recently was from Deutsche Welle: Why are environmental protesters being criminalized? (which is from 2025)
Whenever someone is sharing news about them on unmoderated social media a lot of far-right try shaming them
