The worst is the absurd straw men they create about those of us who are willing to hold our nose and vote for the lesser of two evils.

That makes us “Blue MAGA”, which they desperately want to be a thing. It’s not.

It automatically means we’re dirty liberals who believe in “blue no matter who”. And every discussion with them is a constant battle against bullshit straw men they’ve created about you. So it goes nowhere. By design.

Oh, when Mamdani won his primary, you guys abandoned “blue no matter who” and went back to “party unity my ass.”

Fucking tell me, and they’ll scream at leftists that they essentially elected Trump with their vote when most of us still voted for Harris. We’re just tired of it and letting you know now we’re not playing this stupid game of ratchet effect any longer.

You’re playing “hammer to the nuts” game instead, because that’s the only other game in town. And in case it needed to be said, it’s a worse game to play, there is no winners there.

Like you said, there’s no winners, so why should I actively vote for my own harm then? It’s like a choice between hanging or firing squad, you’re screwed either way and are just given a false choice.

Because the choice isn’t that. The choice is between being actively hunted for sport, and being kinda ignored at a sharing table. You do know how one thing is worse than another? You do understand what “better” or “worse” means?

Notice how neither are desirable at all and we just keep electing people who ignore us? If you keep doing the same thing expecting results, you’re insane. And boy to neo-liberal apologists look insane to me.

The problem with this line of logic is that you appear as if you’re saying something substantial, while in reality you aren’t. You might get to feel very satisfied with the sense of moral superiority, by saying that obviously you’re the only one who recognises that something else needs to be done, and everyone are a sheeple who are too stupid and lib to realise that.
And since your other thing is nebulous and undefined and is placed somewhere far away, and seem to be incompatible with all the other actions a person can take, you get to have a satisfaction of both being smugly superior, and not actually doing anything, while nothing is your fault.
You’re literally doing a meme about firebombing a wallmart, with explicitly added part where you can either dream about firebombing wallmart or voting, but at no point you can do both.

I don’t care what contrived reasons neo-liberal apologists keep making for voting for fascist lite or at best conservative lite. I’ve voted Democrat time and time again to just keep being harmed each time. I’m tired of voting for harm even lesser harm because it’s voting for me to be bullied. That you waste your time with ONE VOTER in a deep RED state shows how much you want to control the narrative and people over making things better. Seriously, STOP.

I love how centrists will respond to a comment that literally says “when most of us still voted for Harris” with a comment that starts with the assumption that the person they’re talking to didn’t.

We voted like you wanted. We told you that your one policy was a losing issue. You chose not to listen to people who knew what they were talking about, and you lost as a result.

when most of us still voted for Harris

If you did, we wouldn’t be here in this mess. You collectively didn’t, and now are trying to shift your part of the blame to whatever the fuck. I mean, if you personally did, good for you, but Trump won anyway.
Like I keep saying, either there is actually a lot of hardcore leftists in the US that decided to not vote against Trump, in which case they’re the worst people, because they had the capacity and moral compass to make less suffering, and didn’t do it. Or, and this is more likely in my opinion, you did vote and it didn’t matter because there is not enough of you to matter, and therefore ignoring what you were saying online was still a good idea, your opinion doesn’t matter when voting comes in play. This is the condemnation of the American public as a whole, both of the scenarios.

Those of us who voted for harris tried to warn you that if you continued to treat your voters with undisguised contempt, you would lose.

You wanted genocide instead. You got what you wanted. Stop pretending to hate it just because you’re getting it from trump instead of harris.

Trump was running on more genocide, and won. Either it’s, depressingly, not as contentious issue for American voters as you think, or they, even more depressingly, actually for it, and the correct position of less genocide isn’t as favourable.
If you cared about people’s lives as you pretend to be, you would see that it’s not binary genocide/no genocide choice. In America you can’t have zero suffering, you can only have less or more of it.

Republicans are not just democrats who haven’t been appeased enough yet.

Adopting republican policy will not get republicans to vote for democrats. But it will drive off democrats.

A democrat cannot win like that.

The voters you have before you will not vote in sufficient numbers for some genocidal corpodem. If you want to win more than you want genocide, you know where to start.

People who helped to elect Trump, by action or inaction, are way more pro-genocide. In terms of people genocided, it’s a worse outcome. There was no ideal outcome on the table, the one where genocide just stops, but there was possibility for the deescalation. Now this possibility is gone and wouldn’t return for a long time, and the only people who are at fault there is American voters, who collectively saw the possibilities and chose the worst one.
