Um… no? It’s considered law enforcement. They would lose their position and any certifications would be suspended first.
Most likely they’d be sent to one where they don’t know anybody. Possibly even transferred out of state. And placed in some kind of protective thing like they do for child molesters and such, since I’d think the state would be responsible for their safety (to some extent/on paper at least).
Yeah that’s what I figured. I was just really baked last night. This thought came into my head based on a conversation I was having with someone, and I just thought the idea hilarious. Just imagining some guard getting sentenced and going, “wait…I still get to keep my job, right?”
Oh, so they get to live in the SHU for their stay in the prison?

Consider this… If you work at the unemployment office and get let go, you still need to go back to work the next day
What if there’s no more unemployment and the unemployment office has to close but that effectively creates more unemployment?
If you are asking about the USA then it depends what prison tier you work at (county, state or federal) cross referenced with what tier you got charged at (same 3 tiers basically). If you work at a county jail/prison but commit a federal offense and get sentenced, tou go to federal penitentiary. Its more c9mmon to go up not down. If you are at a federal lever occupationally, your offenses will likely get you aentenced at the federal level. I think itd be pretty hard to go from federally employed but sentenced at a county level. Its just not how our penal code of corruption works.
Youd never get to keep your job while serving time. At least not at a CO level. There are scrnarios where, for example, a prison fire marshal could get charged and sentenced to the se prispn they worked at and also join the inmate fire marshal program/job they usually offer in exchange for time off sentence. But you def dont go home and you def dont keep your pre-felony salary
