Sometimes I feel lucky to have been homeless when I was 17-20 because I don’t relate to this.

The homeless are at higher risk of violence and theft of their property despite already having so little.

I was also homeless in my late teens and it didn’t worry me then because I was young and strong and had nothing to lose.

The risk of break ins now weighs heavily on my mind despite the lower risk of violence or theft than I previously experienced but that’s because I have a family I need to protect.

I guess the same applies to being relatively poor, it’s really not worth breaking into my flat, there’s barely anything of value in there anyways.
