I miss the absence of light pollution. I know it was still a thing when I was younger, but to see stars any more where I live seems nothing short of a miracle.

Just watched Wristcutters, A Love Story last night. In their depiction of purgatory (or whatever you call the place all the suicides go after death), everything is like it is here, just a little worse.

When they look up at the night sky, it’s just blackness. There are no stars.

Literally me the first time I saw the “Milky Way.” I know, we’re in the Milky Way, but I mean the galactic disk that looks like milk and gave it its name. I was on a church trip (ugh) that took us to the mountains. We arrived at night and when I stepped out of the car and looked up I just stared for… what felt like forever.

I always loved the night sky, but that night I was in pure awe. It was the only redeeming part of that miserable trip.

At first I seen a sad slouched blobfish out of water looking mofo in a backwards ball cap, and wondered why it looked so much like Patrick. I think it’s time to go to bed…
