I went to Honeygrow for the first time yesterday. Its like a salad version of Chipotle. When i was picking up my order at the counter someone was clocking in by scanning their face. I asked, “do you need to scan your face to clock in?” And she said yes in and out every day.

Ive never seen this anywhere but I dont have a job that requires clocking in anymore. This is also a place that wants you to make a profile (email and phone number) and sign in when placing your order. I opted for “guest” to avoid that.

What is the purpose of this? When i was a kid you had a manager who would know who was working. Is this like some tech solution to removing a manager, or is this something else.

If they want to track you on a mobile app, they can provide you with a work phone. They probably can’t force you to use your personal device. I just tell them that my phone can’t install apps (because I’ve lobotomised it). They’ve worked around me.

Good idea, i totally forgot that angle and that would most likely work as well. Tbf i have a rather unpopular phone so it wouldn’t even be that unbelievable that the app doesn’t work.

      Thank you.
