Tattoos themselves are stupid. Doubly so if it’s some media IP. “I put Batman on my body!” “Look at this image of Goku on my calf!” I can’t think of many things I’d want to do less than that.
There are a few narrow exceptions. Chances are yours isn’t one of them.
If you personally like tattoos, fine. I’m not saying nobody should get tattoos because I don’t like them. I’m stating my opinion that tattoos are stupid, and I am stating it here because it is probably not a popular opinion.
I wouldn’t say stupid, but I wish people would try to justify them so much, nobody need a drawing on their body as a reminder of something.

I have a couple tattoos but I dont have a dog in this fight it is whatever people prefer on their own bodies

If you got a tattoo of yourself on your body sure but otherwise im not sure how its vane or narcissistic in any way?
The only purpose of a tattoo is to signal others something, seek attention or because you think it looks good on you. These are all superficial reasons, and mostly performative. If it is something that important to you that need to be stamped on your body, it’s probably already on top of your mind most of the time.
Unless its “Memento” situation.

Every tattoo I got was because I wanted to have it. Each tattoo is in a place that no one would see unless i was in a swimming suit.
I didnt do it for anyone else and I didnt do it because I thought I would look good or better.
I did it because I loved what I was getting tattooed and I loved the artwork.
Not a single one of my tattoos is to signal anything to anyone and none of the people I know who havw them did it for that reason either
