    And what benefit is there in upsetting someone else purposely, regardless of what they did? Seems it will only aggravate the situation instead of deescalating it.

      I mean, those lacking in empathy and critical thinking skills need to learn through pain. A thumbs down ain’t anything they can hold on to and rationalize to excuse themselves of the guilt, so it will produce changes more efficiently. And why must I raise adult children? Because it’s the right thing to do (and their parents/themselves didn’t do it), both for society and for themselves. They might not realize it today (again, they’re immature), but being a better human being benefits primarily oneself. 👍
