I am thinking that moving out is my only option, but I did some research and being unhoused is basically illegal in America due to how local ordinances restrict sleeping outside and stuff.
I am scared and I do not know what to do.
Also, sorry for stating this again, but I am too traumatized to enter college again and my parents will force me to work at their place (they are awful to me and they likely contributed to my mental health issues).
I am also sorry for saying I might have to move out repeatedly, but I am truthful when I say that I might have only a few days to come up with a decision.
Edit: Also, the due date for college application have passed, so I cannot attend even if I wanted to.
Edit 2: In terms of applying for housing help, one program I asked about had a waitlist for several months (which is likely the same for many organizations), and others were not even long-term shelters in the first place. It feels like escaping my parents will be difficult (even though I am already an adult).
Edit 3: I just remembered that someone recommended that I do something on a website where you worked for housing, but it turns out that I could not even do that due to the fact that it required something I did not have! Also, I must repeat that I did not finish college and have very little work experience.
Additional context: I cannot drive, am mentally ill, had bad experiences from my last college, and I have no support network nearby. No one can help me with housing and housing programs will likely take months to allow housing to me.

I have, but I gave up after applying to one and realizing that I would need to wait months (my hope was crushed after that).
I heard that 211 only directed you to housing resources, and they do not actually provide anything because their main goal is to provide resources.
That is true, it’s just a directory! I would call if haven’t already, they did help me in my state
How did they help you?
They told me about new housing resources I didn’t know about!
I will keep that in mind, but I hope I will not end up needing to use them.
