    If works of art valued above a certain amount were automatically nationalized through eminent domain, then perhaps these sorts of thefts would happen less often. But since the fine art market is a tax shelter and money laundering scheme for the ultra-wealthy, no such system will ever exist in capitalist states. The ultra-wealthy won’t allow it.

      The art market is also an insurance scam center, which might be the case here.
