It’s been reported that in the German elections, a far right party has made ‘significant gains’.
In the UK (at least before the scandals) Reform UK seems to have had a significant boost and has even surpassed the right-wing Conservative Party in some polls/predictions.
Even France, one or two years ago, was threatened with a far-right government due to the French far right party gaining a lot of support.
It feels like in the last few years, the far-right has exceeded itself and had a surge in popularity. Is this the case? And if so, wtf is fuelling it?
It started with what the Kremlin (and only the Kremlin) called a coup.
Edit: An aside, I do enjoy these chats. Sort of hope you don’t just ghost me, and that this post doesn’t get nuked. 4 days is damn impressive. An unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. One of us claims one man and his seat of government for the past quarter century is the whole problem, and the other claims it’s half of the entire world. Where could it possibly end?
It may end in nuclear war because you feel “your side”, in your juvenile chauvinist mind, could do no wrong and never lies.
A coup is a coup is a coup is a coup. It makes no difference whether you think it is a “good coup” of a “bad man”.
It’s only half the world in your small mind. Western nations represent 8%, EIGHT PERCENT of the world. That 8% owns 70% of the world’s wealth, largely from extraction and exploitation of the developing world.
You give zero shits about democracy. If America is directly arming 80% of dictatorship then that makes America the LEAST democratic nation in the world, but only if you begin to see democracy as a universal concept. Yet, you see democracy as a privilege enjoyed on the backs of the oppressed, a selective cudgel weaponized to steal natural resources from developing nations.
When you undermine democracy anywhere you undermine democracy everywhere.
I got you going in circles. I got you reusing the same image. I got you to escalate this to “end with nuclear war.” I got you to ignore that Putin has maintained dictatorial power for 25 years and claim I’m against democracy.
Took me longer than I expected.
I’m going to give you some advice. In the future if you ever want to pursuade anyone in “The West” of any sort of opinion.
Do not assume any of us have a collective belief or understanding. With one single caveat. We are individually unique. We use democracy to agree on things. Unfortunately most people listen to emotion rather than logic.
“You give zero shits” is an insanely stupid statement in our culture. It is indicitive of mental health disorders. Because cognitively, its a defense mechanism, and to us, it clearly means the individual is projecting an assumption based on their experience and belief.
