I have no hope for America, it’s a so-called society of hedonistic, intellectually challenged children and seriously depraved, amoral sociopaths. Being a genocidal settler colony turned slaveowner paradise, I have never expected it to be anything more than what it is. And these kinds of “arguments” just give me more supporting evidence. Oh well. America could have 5 civil wars and they still wouldn’t change their ethos, believe me.
Nah, I’m hopeful that Turtle Island will be decolonized, and socialism will allow the working classes to direct society in an intelligent, planned, scientific manner to suit the needs of the people rather than corporate profits. Revolutionary optimism is necessary, class conscious workers cannot lay idle in the belly of the imperial hegemon.
Well, maybe I’m just not thinking about it hard enough nor do I fan the fire of hope because I’m not in the States. I guess you’re right, I should express my criticism with a bit of optimism… I wouldn’t necessarily believe in it, but to be negative seems counterproductive.
Pessimism is certainly understandable, but people have to believe revolution is possible to make revolution in the first place. We don’t have the luxury of outward pessimism towards the socialist movement.
