Assuming you are properly equipped to handle the extreme conditions of space, of course. Does not have to be a planet, or even in the Solar System. Any planet, moon, asteroid, star, or other celestial body is available in this hypothetical!
Sagittarius A* come on it’s the biggest black hole in the galaxy. If it’s eating something it’s going be amazing to watch.
If not that then any planet on the outer edge of the galaxy up above the ecliptic where you could see the whole galaxy at once in the night sky.I wanna see what’s beyond the event horizon of a black hole.
Look for life under the ice of Europa? Run across the planes of Ganimede? Stand on the moon and gaze upon the blue dot? Reenact the martian on mars? Count me in!
Seeing the methane snow on Titan would also be an experience of a lifetime.
planes of Ganimede
I didn’t know that Ganymede was planar, or that it had airplanes… :)
Welp. Earth has planes and is not flat?
Being able to see the Earth from the Moon would be super awesome!
Uranus
Hell yeah, it would be really cool to visit! Ice giants are awesome. Neptune would be a more fun with the ridiculously fast winds of 2,100 km/h though (compared to Uranian winds of “just” 900 km/h)
It’s such a pretty color. I want to see it up close with my own eyes, not just a photo.
One of TRAPPIST-1’s planets. Just long found that system in particular interesting.
Risa
Maybe a comet? That video of Comet 67P from the Rosetta mission looked really cool.
With some other planets and celestial bodies, the photos are often edited or in a spectrum that we can’t see with our eyes. So I’m not sure which ones will be nice to experience otherwise. If I had to pick a planet, I’d go with something with rings so I could fly through them
Personally, I would really love to go to Titan. The methane oceans and thick atmosphere seem really interesting!
But many of the other bodies just in our Solar System are super cool too. Venus is a hot destination, I would love to visit Ceres, the queen of the asteroids, and many of the icy moons would be fun to explore too (think Europa, Callisto, Ganymede, Enceladus, Titania, Triton…)
Titan might be at the top of my list too.
The andromeda galaxy would be cool.
I think a quasar, would probably be one of the most dramatic things to look at.
Or a black hole devouring a sun.
Awesome! Closest thing to the Death Star laser in the universe
Just for sightseeing? I mean without the capability of doing some tests/gathering samples? None then. Those planets are dead and boring aesthetically. We have visually similar shit on Earth somewhere in deserts/mountains/poles.
Not necessarily planets in this hypothetical! And there’s lots of funky chemistry and conditions on the different worlds outside our own, even within our own Solar System. Titan, Saturn’s largest moon, has an atmosphere thicker than ours + methane oceans! And I don’t think anything on Earth can match the wild storms of Neptune, the hellish conditions of Venus, the beautiful rings of Saturn (would make for some sick astrophotography), or the dust storms of Mars.
Or maybe you could venture outside the Solar System, and see other stars, exoplanets, or maybe even more exotic objects, like black holes and neutron stars!
